MY MOTHERS HIP THINKING OF THE CHOCOLATE BARS INSIDE THE GENERAL
STORE.
STEAM LOCOMOTIVES, LOGGERS AND CHINESE BUNKHOUSES SMELLING OF OPIUM
AND LOTS OF VENISON, HOME CANNED VENISON AND POWDERED MILK WERE
STAPLES.
IT WAS AN ENVIABLE CHILDHOOD WITHOUT PLUMBING AND ELECTRICITY.

(LATER NAMED MARSH ROAD),
$800 FOR 1/2 ACRE OF LAND AND $1200 OF MATERIAL.
IT ONLY HAD ONE DOOR AND A SAWDUST BURNING STOVE FOR HEATING AND
COOKING.
WE (HIS KIDS) SOLD IT FOR $118,000 IN 1995 UPON HIS DEATH.
I LIVED HERE UNTIL LEAVING IN 1966 TO GO TO THE UNIVERSITY OF
VICTORIA.
